The Iron Horse Inn

Has anyone eaten at The Iron Horse Inn in Strasburg? How was it? Thanks!

The Iron Horse Inn

A few years ago my father gave a bunch of us gift certificates for the place. We all thought the food was just so-so, and the service was slow and not terribly friendly. I%26#39;ve never been back, even though I still have a $50 certificate. It%26#39;s quite possible they%26#39;ve improved since then, but as of 2006-2007 anyway, it wan not impressive.

JJJB - please note that I am replying to your enquiry as the owner/operator of The Iron Horse Inn. I am not sure when Jameesix was there but we took over the premises in Sept 2003. Obviously I am biased but there have been a couple of recent posts on our listing here on TripAdvisor that might answer your question. And you can check us on the web at www.ironhorsepa.com.

Enjoy your visit!

We live right outside of Strasburg and had dinner a the Iron Horse Inn a couple of weeks ago for the first time ever. Don%26#39;t ask me why it took us so long to stop in! We%26#39;ve both lived in Lancaster Co. our whole lives....I guess we have just been busy with kids, etc. Anyway, the food was FANTASTIC. Their crabcakes are second to none. They are made of huge lumps of crabmeat and I am guessing no filler at all so I don%26#39;t know how they stay together, but they were delicious. My husband had the prime rib and it was perfect. We both had appetizers, too. I had mushrooms stuffed with crab meat and he had the mozz. %26amp; tomatoes. The tomatoes could have been local and fresh, but they were hard and kinda white on the inside. That was the only disappointment of the entire evening. Hopefully by this date they are using local fresh tomatoes. We loved the atmosphere and our waitress was extremely nice without being over bearing. Also, if you go on restaurant.com you can find coupons for lunch and dinner.
