Hampton Inn Center Hotel

Hi

Thanks to everyone for the information regarding the above ( I am visiting Philadelphia in February with grandson aged 13). How cold does it get over there at that time of year and will there be snow?? I notice the points ref homeless persons etc, again thanks to all for that. We have never been to philadelphia before, so we are looking forward to it verymuch. Which is the best shopping mall?? Thanks to all who reply!

The best shopping mall is the King of Prussia shopping mall located about 40 min outside the center of the city. http://www.kingofprussiamall.com

You can reach it by public transportation (Septa bus 124 or 125)http://www.septa.org/service/bus_schedules_split2.html

In February the average temperature will be near 32F that is, FREEZING! There is certainly a chance of snow, ice, freezing rain, cold rain, and wind. You would be well advised to bring warm outwear, such as parka and boots!

The weather here can be very changeable. The temperatures can range from a low of -15C to a high of +15C (not in the same day). Typically, the highs run around 0C to 4C with the lows being -10C to -3 C.

Snow is a possibility. Could be none, could be quite a bit (12 cm or even much more). Bring warm clothes, gloves, wool socks, and boots (rubbers) to be on the safe side. Thus prepared, you can probably count on a warm, dry February. :)

In addition to King of Prussia Mall, there is also some shopping in town. There is a very large Macy%26#39;s department store near your hotel (13th %26amp; Market). There is also a row of more expensive shops on Walnut Street from roughly Broad Street (14th) up to about 18th.

Quite frankly, I would not want to make the trip to KOP via public transit in the winter, especially if you expect to do large amounts of shopping. But it is by far the best.

Are you looking for anything specific, maybe we can find you someplace closer?
