We are trying to decide whether to go to the Wyndham timeshare resort at Shawnee on Delaware or to one of their resorts in Steamboat Springs, CO next summer.
Our son will be with us and he will be 13 next summer.
It doesn%26#39;t look like The Poconos are that kid friendly; looks more like honeymooners and retirees.
Are there any things for a young teen to do there?
Horseback riding, watersports, boating, etc?
Things for kids to do in Shawnee on Delaware
Bushkill Falls along Rt. 209 is great for any age. You can follow several different paths depending on how long you want to walk/hike.
There are lots of horseback riding spots - I know of one right along Rt. 209 across from Fernwood Resort which isn%26#39;t far from Shawnee.
We did a trolly ride (can%26#39;t remember the name of the town where we got on it but it was near Shawnee) one day and then went to Shawnee%26#39;s water park in the afternoon.
There are lots of places to pick up brochures or you can visit the PA state website, go to the pocono region and look for family activities.
There are sports parks in the Poconos - go carts, mini golf, etc.
It is definitely a family area as well as honeymooners.
