2008 fireworks

We are on the 26 floor of the Embassy Suites will we be able to view the fireworks from our balcony? The hotel assures us yes but just wanted to know if any one else knew?

Thanks

Wow! Lucky you! You should have a fabulous view, if, as was previously said, you are facing the Art Museum. Enjoy! Moms

We had planned to watch from our hotel too, but we didn%26#39;t pick a good hotel for this, we are at the Sofitel. Are there any bars, restuarants or something like that we could watch from above to avoid the crowds.

Not really. If there were, all 300,000 people would want to be there as well.

My experience at this event is this: If you want a good location (up front near the stage), you have to get there VERY early in the day, camp out, and hope some bigger person with beach chairs doesn%26#39;t get in front of you. You will need to bring blankets to sit on, food, and water. If it is a typical July 4th day, it will be VERY hot, with the body heat from the crowd raising the air temperature even more. I find it intloerable and haven%26#39;t gone in years.

My advice is don%26#39;t worry about a good seat. Even far back you can see most of the fireworks. But if youi can%26#39;t get closer than 20th Street (really 21st, IMO), forget it. Your best bet is to catch the fireworks at Penn%26#39;s Landing instead on the 5th. Much more pleasant environment, an equally good, if not better show, and no bad views.
