Old City advice?

Hello-

I am planning a bachelorette party in Philly. Can anyone recommend a not-too-expensive restaurant in Old City? (Under $30pp, if possible.)

And can you also recommend a few bars to try after dinner?

I was in Philly a few weeks ago and it seemed really empty in Old City. I guess because everyone goes to the shore on weekends? We were are Ploug and Stars and it picked up around midnight, but seemed pretty empty until then.

Thanks in advance!

Old City advice?

How many people are in the party? and what type of bar experience are you looking for? more of a party scene or higher end, or clubs?

Old City advice?

There will be 6 of us. I would say we%26#39;re looking for more of a party scene than a club scene.

While its not in Old City, I think that El Vez on 13th st. would be a fun place for your bachelorette party dinner. Great Mexican food, party atmosphere, great margaritas...

As much as I like El Vez, if you really want to stick to an Old City location, here are some choices that may come close to fitting your budget requirements:

Ariana - Afghan food, right on the 100 block of Chestnut Street. BYOB - good food and maybe you can reserve the front window seat.

The Continental - world tapas on the 100 block of Chestnut. Trendy and the food is moderately priced, but watch those $10-12 martinis

Euglogy - Belgium food, great beer selection, very good mussels - also on the 100 block of Chestnut

Mexican Post - fun, decent and cheap Mexican food, excellent margaritas - also on the 100 block of Chestnut

That might be a help. Have fun!

Food sugestions so far have been good, it will be hard to stick with that budget in old city, but another suggestion would be postiano coast on 2nd and I want to say walnut, moderately priced entrees and a very nice outdoor lounge area to start the night off with a drink.

As for the bars that are party scenes, you could check out Mad river, Lucy%26#39;s, or further up by spring garden there is always mcfaddens and finnigans wake which both always have bachelorette parties as well as party deals

Hope this helps

Swanky Bubbles on Front St would be a good time, too. Could always do Helium Comedy Club..

Tiki Bob%26#39;s is another party place outside of old city - right next to McFadden%26#39;s. I haven%26#39;t been there in years, but I assume it%26#39;s still the same.

Personally I prefer the center city / rittenhouse area for the bar environment, but as above, I%26#39;d check out Plough and Stars, Mad River, Cuba Libre, but probably not Eulogy for a group of 6 girls, it%26#39;s pretty tight in there. Washington Square would be cool for a quiet drink.

Konak, a Turkish restaurant on the 200 block of Vine Street, is another good option.

swanky bubbles is a good suggestion, but it%26#39;s more high end with their drink menu centering on Champagne mixitures, but good be fun for a drink or two with 6 girls, I know my girlfriend loves this place

Tiki bob%26#39;s is very much the club scene with the crowd tending to be on the younger side
