hotel near airport

My boyfriend and i wil be flying out of philly on a monday. We thought we would go to philly the day before to get the sights. Anyone have any suggestion where we could stay that would be close to the airport? Also how far is the airport the the center city. What would you suggest doing in the city since we will be only there for 1 full day on a sunday? Thanks for any help!

Airport isn%26#39;t very far from Center City (maybe a $35 cab ride, including tips, each way or a $7 per person train ride directly from the airport).

Have you been to the historical attractions before? If not, you easily could spend the day in Old City, which also has a great selection of bars and restaurants. While you could stay at the airport (check the recently renovated Sheraton Suites or the recently renovated Embassy Suites for starters), spending the night in Old City would be more convenient and maximum your time in the city.

Check out Sheraton Society Hill, the Omni, the Hyatt Regency at Penns Landing, the Penns View Inn or the Best Western at Independence Park for places to stay. For best rates, use Hotwire or Priceline, but pay attention to--and be comfortable with--the restrictions/limitations. I am from the Philadelphia are and get back there a few times a year, but local ';destination experts'; probably have even better ideas to add.

I would stay in the historic district (close to attractions and its fairly easy in-out of this city), any of the places above is a fine choice, and I would add in the Holiday Inn historic..

Are you driving in to Philly? If your time away is longer than 2-3 days, what I would do is park your car off-site Monday at one of the places off I-95 (I like pre-flight parking but most of them are good).

There is a nice Mariott that is actually attached to the airport - you don%26#39;t even have to go outside. That might be convenient for you.

There%26#39;s many, many hotels around the Philly airport; the majority (if not all) offer free shuttle service: Embassy Suites, Hilton airport, Marriot Courtyard, Sheraton, Ramada.

Like the other poster mentioned, there%26#39;s a Marriot right at the airport.
