Reading or Kittery?

Which location is better for outlet shopping? We%26#39;re planning a girls weekend for this fall, and we went to Kittery, ME last year...but now are wondering if we should give Reading a try? Any advice? Thanks!

Reading or Kittery?

I hate to wear my dutiful husband badge on my sleeve but I have been to both places. Personally, the Reading outlets have dwindled over the last ten years or so. Although my wife still makes a trip there every so often. We also stop at the Kittery Outlets on way up 95. I think Kittery has more of a variety.

However, with that being said if you travel another 15-20 miles east on 422 there are the Philadelphia Premium Outlets which just opened 6 to 8 months ago. Nike, JCrew, lots of others. Well worth the trip to do both Reading and the Philly Outlets.

Reading outlets are not that great anymore . . . much prefer the Lancaster outlets, such as Tanger and Rockvale, but the Philadelphia Premium Outlet center is the best . . . very beautiful place to spend the day and they have all the top outlets, plus more!

Reading use to be the Outlet Capitol of the World but it isn%26#39;t anymore. The only outlets are the Vanity Fair outlet complex in Wyomissing, PA. They have Vanity Fair lingerie, Lee jeans, Reading China %26amp; Glass, Black %26amp; Decker, Totes, and lots more. Website www.vanityfair.com. In PA no sales tax on clothing.

Rehoboth Beach,Delaware has a lot of outlets. They have Tanger Outlets (Tanger pronounced like hanger) and they do not charge sales tax. And there are some cute shops on the main street of Rehoboth Beach.

Lancaster, PA also has the Tanger Outlets and Rockvale Square outlets both along Rt. 30 plus a lot of other outlets along Rt. 30. If you go to Lancaster be sure to drive to Intercourse, PA. There is the Kitchen Kettle Village (www.kitchenkettle.com)and on google look up shops in Intercourse, PA because there are several Amish craft stores some within walking distance from Kitchen Kettle and some just a short drive. Also on Rt. 30 towards York is the Park City Mall. If you plan to do any sight seeing there are several Amish themed things (buggy rides, tour an Amish farm). There is also entertainment: American Music Theatre, Dutch Apple Theatre, Sight and Sound. All of these places have websites.
