How far is Gettysburg from Baltimore?

My friends and I are staying in Gettysburg, but would also like to visit a few other places. We have already been to Harpers Ferry and Antietam Battlefield so I though why not visit Baltimore since there is so much to see there. Does anyone know how far the drive would be? Is it worth it? Thanks!!

How far is Gettysburg from Baltimore?

Approx 60 miles depending on where you%26#39;re headed.

How far is Gettysburg from Baltimore?

Well we would like to head toward the aquarium, the zoo, and alot of the historical stuff like the fort.

If you%26#39;re just going to Inner Harbor, you might think about driving to Owings Mills and taking the Metro. It%26#39;s only a couple of blocks walk down the hill from the station.

Parking%26#39;s not cheap, traffic%26#39;s not fun. Metro ride is about 25 minutes.

I think there is a ferry from the Inner Harbor to the fort; someone correct me if I%26#39;m wrong.

Don%26#39;t need to take the metro. Inner Harbor and the surrounding ares have many places to park. From Gettysburg take 97 south towards Littlestown, get on rt 140 @ Westminster,MD still heading south. Get on 795 Northeast Expressway heading south, then 695 east then catch 83 south and read the signs into Baltimore.

Inner Harbor, Cambden Yards and Fort Mchenry all walking distance.

To everyone who has replied thank you so much!!

I was told it takes about an hour and 20 minutes to reach baltimore from gettysburg?

Im sure it will be worth the drive since theres so much to see in Baltimore.

I also have people telling me that its an unsafe city to visit, but I think all cities have an unsafe area.

We are all big history buffs so we cant wait to see Fort McHenry! I believe there are some civil war museums too to see. I just hopt we can fit all this stuff in one day LOL!

Don%26#39;t forget about the Manassas Battlefield in VA. My hubby %26amp; I did that drive two years ago %26amp; it wasn%26#39;t too bad. It%26#39;s a beautiful battlefield if you can imagine it without all the highways.

An hour and 20 minutes, only if you get stuck behind a slow poke. Barring any delays (traffic/accident) you should expect about a hour drive tops. As far as Baltimore being a bad city, yes it does have it%26#39;s bad areas but the Inner Harbor area is a very safe spot to walk around and see those attractions. Make sure your information your getting is creditable.

Thanks again for your replys! Its greatly appreciated! Hmmmm an hour from Gettysburg....not bad. Sounds like a plan. I actually got my info from mapquest. Either way without traffic it should be smooth sailing I hope.

As for Driving to Virginia thats a bit far for us right now. We do in the future plan to see Virginia and the magnificent battlefields there.

Thanks again!!

Just a quick added note about times. You will hit serious traffic on 97 and 140 in Westminster if you leave Gettysburg too early in the morning on weekdays. We always leave around 9...that way we hit the Baltimore area after the rush. If you plan to visit the aquarium, reserve your tickets early (you can do it online) to avoid disappointment and to make sure that you can go at the time you%26#39;d like. Check out taking the water taxi across to Fort McHenry.
