Help...I need suggestions where to go

My daughter and I are planning on taking a driving trip to Pennsylvania. We would like to find a small tourist area similar to Wisconsin Dells, Jackson Hole, or Estes Park. We love the out of doors and the mountains and the lakes. We would like to stay in the central part of the state or western part since it would be a shorter drive for us. Any help anyone can give us would be extremely appreciated. I have never been to the state so I know nothing :( Thanks!!!

Check the PA website. I believe there is a guide to route 6 which runs along the northerrn part of the commonwealth. There are many small towns and beautiful scenery. Hope this helps. There are also many state parks that would suit you Good luck

The Raystown Lake area near Huntingdon, PA is beautiful - mountains %26amp; lakes. Here are some websites to check out:

Have you been to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. That is also a very nice area to explore. We stay in the towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge

I was thinking the same two areas in PA. Look here for a tour of Rt. 6, where you can easily click on entertainment, history, nature, etc. National Georgraphic rated the drive o';ne of America%26#39;s most scenic drives'; . In fact, Rt. 6 accesses the northern part of what is known as the Pennsylvania Wilds. You could take it as far as you like.

And look at this one too, clicking on roadtrips, about the region and getting here, things like that and then click on the side margin options...things like %26#39;cool towns%26#39;, history, etc.
