Fishtown
Fishtown has been historically a working class neighborhood but is starting to become gentrified. Here%26#39;s a recent travel article from the NY Times that will give you some hints about local shops and food spots.

Fishtown
Fishtown is in the up and coming stage, working class is a good way to put it. I would not call it the safest area, but at the same time, I would not say there is anything to be scared of while being there. There is one bar that I would say is def worth a visit, and that is johnny brendas, aside from that is it all neighborhood bars as I can tell
But just know that while in fishtown, you are only a short cab ride away from northern liberties and old city which both have plenty of good bars and restaurants. Depending on where in fishtown you are, you may be close enough to walk to Northern Liberties
