Help!Tell Me Your Ideal July 4th Weekend in Pittsburgh!

I am wondering if all of you Pittsburgh veterans can give me your version of the ';The Perfect Weekend'; in Pittsburgh on the 4th of July weekend. We will be there for 2 1/2 days and staying downtown at the Renaissance. Looking for the best things to see and do and best places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are a forty something couple traveling alone. Thanks in advance!!

Help!Tell Me Your Ideal July 4th Weekend in Pittsburgh!

Hello, welcome to Pittsburgh!

There is a fireworks display July 4 based on the North Side (you%26#39;ll just walk across the Clemente Bridge from your hotel) It personally wouldn%26#39;t be my ideal weekend, %26#39;cause I hate huge crowds but it IS the Fourth of July.

There is usually a bar scene Fridays on Penn Ave near your hotel, don%26#39;t know if things will be going strong this Friday.

Fit in a trip up one or both of the inclines sometime during your weekend. That%26#39;s a must-do.

The Just Ducky Tour is a fun orientation to Pittsburgh, or alternatively a ride on the Gateway Clipper.

The strip District should be buzzing Saturday morning and afternoon. Stop at DeLuca%26#39;s for breakfast while you%26#39;re there.

A Primanti%26#39;s sandwich is always an adventure. The location in the Strip has gotten way too filthy for my tastes, so I%26#39;d go to Market Square or the South Side location.

I%26#39;d hit the South Side at some point - start at the South Side Works, where there is parking, and visit some upscale mostly chain stores. Then stroll ALL the way down Carson Street. You%26#39;ll find plenty of places for meals of all varieties and drinks.

We have a nice small zoo and I think the Aviary is great fun.

Otherwise, without knowing your tastes/budget...if you can be any more specific I can try to make some more recommendations. Good luck!
