Historic sites

Planning on visiting most of the historic sites on my stay (sat 7/12-tues 7/15). I have been told to pre-purchase tickets for the major attractions. Is this true, or can I purchase the day of my intended visit?

Most of the sites do not have tickets, Independence Hall and the Constitution Center are the biggies that do. I would recommend pre-obtaining for the Independence Hall tour prior to your planned date, the others can probably wait until day of..

The tickets for Indep Hall are only $150 each to pre-reserve, btw. # is on this page: http://www.nps.gov/inde/

I agree with Loonbeam; it would be helpful to pre-reserve your tour of Independence Hall because that is a timed ticket, and pay the $1.50 per ticket fee. Or, if you prefer, you can show up at Independence Vistors Center on the morning of the day you want to visit, and pick up your timed ticket free of charge. However, as the tickets are first come first served, you might not get the exact time that you want, and they could ';sell out.';

If you want to go see ';Pirates!'; at the Franklin, that is also a timed ticket.

You should be able to purchase all your other tickets for historical attractions at the door without prereserving.
