Hello! The four of us have been to Philly a few times before and we%26#39;ve checked off all the basics - historical sites, neighborhoods, Art Museum, etc and now we%26#39;re looking for a something different. Any advice on things to do in the surrounding areas (indoor and outdoor) would be appreciated!

Do you have a date or time of year in mind?

You mentioned you have been to the Art Museum but have you been to the new Perelman annex, a beautifully restored Art Deco building? How about Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts? The Institute of Contemporary Art? The Rosenbach museum? Also, consider some art venues outside the city: the Barnes Foundation in Merion PA and further afield, the Brandywine River Museum.

How about a day in beautiful Bucks County? If you don%26#39;t have a car, you can take the Septa R5 to Doylestown and spend the day visiting the Mercer Museum, Michener Art Museum, Moravian Tile Works and checking out the shops/galleries along Main and State Streets. You could end your day with drinks and/or dinner at the Freight House restaurant adjacent to the train station before heading back into Philly. If you have a car, you could tack on a trip to New Hope, with its antique shops, funky boutiques, restaurants, and canal path for a walk, jog or bike ride. A short walk across the bridge over the Delaware River takes you into Lambertville, which is also nice for a few hours.
How about:
a mural arts tour
the chef%26#39;s tour of the Italian Market
the walking tour of Chinatown
Philadelphia City Hall - tour is weekdays at 12:30. I think this is Philly%26#39;s most overlooked attraction
theatre at the Wilma, Suzanne Roberts, or other venue
walking tour of the Old Philadelphia Congregations sites - something unique to Philly. See holyexperiment.org for more info.
