Need to know easiest or possible transportation options from old city (chestnut and 2nd st) to Phillie%26#39;s ball park for a Sunday afternoon game. Thinking about cabbing it there, but cabs may be tough to find on the way back. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Transportation to Phillie's ball park
Take the subway at 2nd and Market westbound (it%26#39;s called the Market-Frankford El, aka Blue line) to 15 St. There transfer (just follow the signs) to the Broad St line (aka Orange line) southbound to Pattison St. which is the sports complex, the last stop. FYI, it%26#39;s called the City Hall station on the Broad St line, but it%26#39;s just a tunnel/walkway connection to the 15th St station on the Blue line.
Buy tokens for both ways at the 2nd St station.

This map of the Market-Frankford line probably makes it clearer than my directions if you%26#39;re a visual person. You%26#39;ll see the 2nd St station, the 15th St station, and the connection to the Broad St line. You can also click on the map for the Broad St line. There are usually express trains before games, whcih is a bit quicker, but either local or express will do.

thanks...I appreciate the info!!
Totally agree- hit the trains. Getting a cab back into the city from any of the stadiums is hit or miss at best. I%26#39;ve wandered for a long time trying to get one the last time I attempted it.
My son and I - visiting from Boston - saw a game there 2 weeks ago. We had no trouble hailing a cab as soon as we exited the ballpark. It may have been luck, and it was a day game during the week, but as soon as we exited the park, a cab pulled up the the curb. Perfect ending to a perfect day!
Soxfan,
You were lucky. We don%26#39;t want to encourage anyone into thinking they can get a cab after the game. Most cab drivers avoid the area due to traffic and the slim chances of a fare
