Where to stay??

I am planning to visit Hershey but also visit other towns such as Harrisburg, Lancaster and Gettysburg. Not sure where to stay...looking for something that is not expensive and a good location. Any ideas?

Where to stay??

It depends on how much you like to drive. Personally, I%26#39;d stay somewhere on the west side of Harrisburg or even out in Carlisle. The hotels are cheaper and everything is quieter. The Mechanicsburg Hampton Inn is in a nice location. It%26#39;s an older hotel, but is in a quiet office park convenient to the PA Turnpike and US 15. Carlisle will be even cheaper, but is a little further from Hershey and Lancaster. The Sleep Inn in Carlisle at I-81 would be convenient. Harrisburg East would be closer to Hershey and Lancaster...the Fairfield Inn there has good reviews, but there are many, many hotels that are still less expensive than Hershey.

I live near Gettysburg, and consider all of those locations an easy drive...if you want to stay somewhere that is closer to an attraction, you may be able to find something inexpensive in Gettysburg. Lancaster is an hour and a half to two hours, Hershey an hour, Harrisburg an hour or less depending on US 15 traffic. I do avoid 581 during the evening rush, as it can be very busy.

Good luck!

I would recommend the Harrisburg East area. The Homewood Suites Harrisburg East-Hershey has gotten good reviews on this site. Its location would be great for all the major highways you need to access Gettysburg, Lancaster, and Hershey.

Some other places in the same area that have gotten good reviews are the Hilton Garden Inn Harrisburg East and the Courtyard by Marriott Harrisburg Hershey.
