Ideas for a Tuesday Off

Hi All,

My hubs %26amp; I are looking for ideas of things to do on a Tuesday off. We were thinking Dorney Park, kayaking @ Marsh creek or something similar but are open to suggestions. In our 30%26#39;s, enjoy outdoor activities. Don%26#39;t particularly enjoy crowds, etc. Thanks in advance.

Ideas for a Tuesday Off

Sorry we live in DelCo

Ideas for a Tuesday Off

Spend a day in treehouses!

First, at Tyler Arboretum:

Then venture west to Longwood Gardens: www.longwoodgardens.org/NaturesCastles.html

If you want something more physical, spend the day canoeing, kayaking, or tubing on the Brandywine. Northbrook Canoes is a good operator: http://www.northbrookcanoe.com/

Add to the list: riding your bikes at Ridley Creek State Park or hiking or going horseback riding there (stables are in the park). Pack a picnic and make a day or half-day of it. Ridley Creek State Park is just a few miles outside of Media and practically adjacent to the Tyler Arboretum and only about 20 minutes from Longwood Gardens, should you want to combine activities.

Woth the caveat that Dorney is probably closer, I prefer Hershey to Dorney.. Unless the water park is more of the allure..

Do you have kayaking equipment of your own (and some experience)? A buddy and I used to Kayak off barnegat light in NJ. Bit of a drive, but very nice. You would have to check if conditions still permit, this was 10 years ago.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful suggestions. We regularly go to Ridley Creek with our pups so it might be nice to switch things up a bit %26amp; go biking just the two of us! I think we%26#39;ll save the tree houses for when our nieces come up later in the summer. Another great idea though.

We do have our own kayaking equipment and that might be a great way to spend the day. Especially since it%26#39;ll be a bit cooler on the NJ coast.

I%26#39;ll let you know what we decide, Tuesday%26#39;s fast approaching! unfortunately one of our pups is a little sick, we have a vet visit tomorrow. Hopefully we%26#39;ll get the OK that she%26#39;s fine.

Thanks again!

Kath

How about rafting on the Lehigh River? Just a little farther than Dorney Park. Good way to beat the heat. The water park at Dorney is pretty crowded in the summer but you might be ok on a weekday...

another good idea. Thanks!

Hi again,

We ended up going to the movies. With both pups being sick we were afraid to go too far. Plus I came down with something Tuesday morning. We%26#39;ll have to save our outdoor adventures for another Tuesday. Thanks again for all the suggestions. I%26#39;ve placed them on our to do list!
