Shop and stay in Penn state with 13 yr. old???

Please help..

First timers coming to Pennsylvania end of August for back to school shopping with 13 yr. old. Open to ideas of where to shop and stay. We%26#39;re planning on 2-3 days and willing to travel to more then one location. Price not a huge issue...looking for decent place with pool (hotel, resort, cottage, B%26amp;B).

If you are staying in the Hershey area, the Outlets at Hershey are nice but it is a small center.

If you don%26#39;t mind traveling to Lancaster, the Rockvale Square Outlet is much bigger and offers more stores. There is also the Tanger Outlet Center in Lancaster.

Just to clarify, do you mean the state of Pennsylvania or are you actually going to Penn State (as in the University in State College, PA)?

If you just mean the state, you should go to the King of Prussia Mall(Philadelphia outskirts). It%26#39;s not an outlet, just a mall, but a really huge one. There are hotels and restaurants all around it geared just for people who are making shopping at the mall their destination.

If you are coming from Toronto, your best bet may be the Grove City outlet mall on Interstate 79 between Erie and pittsburgh:

If (as a previous poster said) you are going to the city of State College (home of Penn State University), then you may want to post in the State College forum.

I%26#39;ve been to Grove City several times and I%26#39;m from Niagara Falls,On. Just 3 hours to get there. Probably 4 hours for you coming from Toronto. Great place to shop. You can also stop by in Erie....several stores and good shopping also. But if you plan to stay a few days, I would stay in Erie and drive to Grove City outlets...just 1 hour from there.
