We need to take the metro from the stadium to the train station from 10:00-10:30 p.m. Is the metro and the train station safe at night?
Safety of The Metro/Train StationsNo problems. You%26#39;ll be moving with thousands of other people from the game...
Safety of The Metro/Train StationsAnd just as an FYI, we don%26#39;t call it the metro, it is the subway. No one will know what you%26#39;re talking about if you refer to ';the metro';.
Subway aside, by the train station, are you referring to 30th St. / Amtrak?
Yes, 30th Street Amtrak station is safe at night, quite pleasant actually.
Oops. We were just in DC a few months ago which is why I called it ';the metro';. I didn%26#39;t even look into the transportation system in Philly enough to know what it was called (thanks for the tip!).
Yes, I was referring to the 30th street AMTRAK station. I%26#39;m really showing my lack of knowledge of Philly! The extent of my visits in the past were going on bus trips to games almost 30 years ago!
Thanks for your help!
To get to 30th Street Station from the stadium:
Take the Broad Street Subway (Orange Line, follow the mob) to the City Hall Station. Follow the signs to the Market-Frankford El (Blue Line) Westbound. This train will not be nearly as crowded. Take this line one stop, which will be 30th Street. When you get off the train, walk up the nearest set of stairs. You will still be underground. Go through the exit gate and walk back in the direction you just came from on the train (back towards town) and stay to the left. The last exit on the left will take you up the stairs (or elevator, but don%26#39;t take it) deposit you directly across the street from 30th Street Station.
Oh- one more thing. When you get off the Broad Street Line, to transfer to the Marker-Frankford El westbound, the signs for westbound will also say 69th Street.
