Thanksgiving Week 2008

My wife and I are planning to visit Gettysburg for four nights during Thanksgiving week. I see that this question was discussed in the past, but I wanted to confirm if most restaurants are indeed open on Thanksgiving. If so, are reservations needed? We are planning to arrive on Tuesday Afternoon, saying until Saturday. We haven%26#39;t been to Gettysburg in about 8 years and are looking forward to visiting again. It looks like the various attractions are open, with the exception being that the Visitors Center is closed Thanksgiving Day.

I know one restaurant open is General Pickett%26#39;s Buffet. They have various seatings so you would need to make a reservation. I believe The Pike is also open. Most everything is closed on Thanksgiving Day.

I am from gettysburg and almost all restaurants in Gettysburg are open on Thanksgiving with most having a buffet type meal. If you go to www.gettysburg.travel you can get a free Gettysburg Tour Guide Booklet. You can also see whats going on in the area at www.gettysburg.com

Your question has been up for awhile but since you are asking about Thanksgiving, i guess there is still time to chime in! We enjoyed Easter Dinner at the Cashtown Inn in 2008 and 2007, if they are open for Thanksgiving that would be my first choice. www.cashtowninn.com You have to search under Cashtown to get the reviews, we posted our experience. Lots of atmosphere and good food. It%26#39;s a shame the Visitor Center is closed, the new museum is wonderful but SO busy---enjoy your trip!
