Where is a good, quiet, non-touristy place to sit back and grab a beer some evening? I see the postings for the Dobbin House and O%26#39;Rourkes, but feel they might be too touristy. Any place the locals hang out for a good place for brew, especially local micro-brew?
Good place for a beer
OK, did some more research. What%26#39;s the ';locals'; take on Appalacian Brewing Company? Looks to be a bit more of what we%26#39;re looking for.
Good place for a beer
Hi there- I%26#39;m a Gettysburgian. ABC is good- and it%26#39;s out of the way- meaning it%26#39;s not on the Steinwehr strip. If you%26#39;re looking for a microbrew, it%26#39;s your best shot. Otherwise, when my husband and I go out for drinks, it%26#39;s to the Blue Parrot. I hope you enjoy your visit!
Hi flgal65
Read my review for ABC, probably just the place you’re looking for.

Thanks BigWoody, that%26#39;s how I found the place was through your review. Always love a good beer, especially a local one. This does sound like what I%26#39;m looking for.
Thanks for everyone%26#39;s help. Will be there on the 23rd-26th with a day of roller coaster riding at Hershey. Yeah! Hoping it%26#39;s at least 5 degrees cooler than it is here in FL right now.
Thanks to GettysburgMom too!!!!
Westside Bar and Grill on Rt 30.
Herr%26#39;s Tavern also on Rt 3o
I agree with the ABC recommendation for beer. They have some quality brews and a Water Gap Wheat is nice on a hot and humid day.
I would go elsewhere for food though. I%26#39;ve been pretty underwhelmed by the food at both the Gettysburg and Harrisburg locations.
KClingers in Hanover (about 25 min. from G-burg) has a huge selection of beers. The food is pretty good, too.

I would have to concur with everyone else ABC is a nice realxing place to get a solid brew and one of my fav. micros in the area
For local color the Pub and the Plaz are both on the aquare as is tthe pub in the Gettysburg hotel. Another that my wife likes is the Blue Parrot Bistro on Chamberburg Street.
