Philadelphia

Hi

Does anyont know of any cut price designer stores/outlets in the area please?

Also, how long would it take via train to get to New York or Boston - approximate cost??

Finally, is Philly close to the Amish community, it would be good also to visit there i think.

Thanks to all who reply

If it%26#39;s outlets you seek, there%26#39;s some good ones about an hour west of Philly - car drive required.

Amtrak, price and time depends on regional, express, or high-speed service:

Phl to New York is from 1 to 1.5 hours $40-$120

Phl to Boston is 5-6 hours. $80-$200

Regional rail using public systems from Philly to NY is about 2 hours and $25 with exchange in Trenton, NJ.

Philly is less than 2 hours to Amisch country, Lancaster, PA. Drive or Amtrak accessible.

Let us know what you%26#39;d like further information on and we can sure help!

no real designer outlets here just the outlet malls with BR,Gap,etc. Not worth driving to.

If you are in the city Wed-Sat just head to Reading Terminal Market and have lunch at the Amish counter and visit some of the Amish stalls. I think it is about 45 minutes to Lancaster but there is not much to do there IMO.

take a look at this recent thread about shopping places

Amish country is nice but I would not go in February

Another option for outlets is AC - apparently it is pretty inexpensive to get there via 30th Street Station and the outlets are close to the station. I was just there last week and the Coach outlet was amazing - I got the best bag for $66!!! (originally $168 American dollars, outlet price was 159, reduced to 109 and an additional 40% off...ta-da!) I was restrained but the women were buying with BOTH hands, literally!

AC is Atlantic City, by the way.
