*What was great. To take a road trip where too many don%26#39;t travel. Meet a wonderful Irish lady who gets the job done.

*What wasn%26#39;t great. The unwillingness of the manager/owner/cashier to be helpful in our reasonable complaints about the accomadations, to say the least.

* The food was acceptable but no great.

* The house Merlot wine was watered.

* Some of the senior staff personels were very UN-helpful.

* The highschool kids and young adults were very polite and respectful to helping to create a romantic environment.

Would I recommend it - Not our first choice to recommend. But I heard the Walnut Inn (Milford) down the road is good. We may try them next time.

We went in the winter, so the pool was not opened and the lounge is only open til late 11PM.

I hope this gets posted to your comment site.

Thanks

My family has been going to Mt. Haven for over 20 years. I recently went with them in October with my Finacee and had a wonderful time. The lounge is open everynight till around 10 maybe later on weekends. I%26#39;ve read some complaints that the lounge doesn%26#39;t have entertainment. I have always viewed the lounge area at Mt. Haven as a place to have a cocktail and relax. The bartender is very nice and makes a good drink. I have always loved the food but the seafood buffet on Friday nights was impressive. The Sunday brunch can%26#39;t be beat.

I%26#39;m a Milford ';local'; We love Mt. Haven, but there are also a ton of other places in town, if you don%26#39;t mind taking a 10 minute drive. The Waterwheel Cafe has a nice lounge on the weekends. The best places to eat are Le Gorille (which is in Shohola up Rt. 6) and The Dimmick is always great, though pricey. I have not been to Fauchere, although I have heard good things. I%26#39;d avoid Apple Valley, but the Apple Grill is good in Matamoras (past Walmart, Home Depot, etc.) Peters is also good alll the way up Route 6 (you will swear there is nothing there, but it is worth the drive. )Dawny%26#39;s soup kitchen is phenomenal but they close at 5. Milford is more a piano bar town than a club town, Oh and if you want the best desserts to bring back to your room, the Perfect Pan is on the outskirts of town close to the bridge OMG their brownies with expresso ganache--to die for. Hope you enjoy your stay. If you come the second weekend of the month we have Art After Dark, where the galleries stay open late and there is wine and music on the street-its cozy.

Mt. Haven is a great resturant located on beautiful grounds just outside Milford Pa. They offer a wonderful Sunday brunch buffets and also specialty evening buffets such as Italian night, Seafood night. You will not be disappointed in their holiday dinners and they are wonderful to use for office parties! They also have an extensive take out menu which is very reasonable for family size portions. Most popular time to visit the resort is from May thru October! Excellent fresh pastries, salads and steaks!

We spent two nights in Milford. Our dinner at Dimick Inn was FAR better than Mt Haven. Food at Mt Haven is only so-so at best. And the rooms there are disgusting.

Pool is small and in a remote area

Food not to good

The suite we stayed in was next to the pool .You would think the pool would be in a central area. But it even got better, right outside your door, was a dumpster where they burnt the garbage.

the burning smell was awful.

To drive up to our suite and to drive by this burning garbage dump

makes you wonder what we are doing here????????

the inside of the suite was pretty well dated.

Hot water sometimes....

Stayed here twice but no more......

I have been here many times as a child and once recently. The food is a 3 on a 1-10 10 being best. The rooms a 2. I%26#39;m sure theres better places to stay and eat
