Hi! We will be travelling to Bethlehem at the end of July for the wedding of a business colleague. We live in Hershey, so we could conceivably drive home afterwards, but I would prefer to spend the night. The problem is that I haven%26#39;t seen any overhelmingly positive reviews for any of the hotels in Bethlehem. The reception will be held at the Best Western Lehigh Valley which has horrible reviews on this site. Does anyone have any suggestions?
We do not need a 5 star hotel, we just need something that will be comfortable, clean, and have good staffing. We are open to Bed and Breakfasts as well.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Hersheyfolks -
I haven%26#39;t read any of the reviews, but a friend of mine spent this past weekend at the Hotel Bethlehem for her daughter%26#39;s graduation from Moravian - she said it was lovely.

looks like the Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn up towards the airport have gotten good reviews. My wife and I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot up towards the airport the night of our wedding and had no complaints.
The Hotel Bethlehem doesn%26#39;t have the best reviews on this site but it%26#39;s location can%26#39;t be beat, right in the cutest part of downtown Bethlehem. The only problem may be that there will most likely be a wedding reception held there which means potentially drunk/loud wedding guests. You might ask for a room away from any groups when you make a reservation.
If your aim is to stay close to the Best Western but not at it, you might as well go to one of the airport hotels, just an exit away. BUT, just take a few minutes to visit downtown Bethlehem even if you don%26#39;t stay there. :)
Check out the Morning Star B%26amp;B. I%26#39;ve never stayed there b/c I live in Bethlehem but have heard great things about it! Its in the historic district and just a block or so from Main St. which has shops and restaurants.
If you%26#39;re willng to stay by the Lehigh Valley Airport, which isn%26#39;t really very far, I recommend the Residence Inn - Allentown/Bethlehem. Stayed one night last fall -- very nice. Not a full-service hotel by any means, if that%26#39;s what you mean by ';good staffing.'; But the front-desk staff was helpful and cordial.
Second the recommendation to take at least a few hours to explore Bethlehem. Very cool little town!
I would suggest the Sayre mansion in bethlehem it%26#39;s a B%26amp;B. It is beautiful there. Trust me. You will not be dissapointed.
The Hotel Bethlehem is great.....the reviews don%26#39;t do it justice. (And if you stay there, have dinner at the BrewWorks down the street!) The Sayre Inn is also great, but most likely booked for that weekend. Also, it%26#39;s more of a destination on its own...you won%26#39;t want to leave to go to a wedding!
I also agree that the Courtyard is nice, especially if you are travelling with kids and want a pool.
