We are staying outside of the city at the end of July and want to be sure to see not only the most popular spots (Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, etc.) but also some off the beaten path. Any suggestions for 2 Adults %26amp; 2 Kids? Any restaurants (kid-friendly %26amp; reasonable) not to miss? Anywhere outside the city to visit?
Thanks!

Where exactly are you staying?

What kind of food do you like? I can make some suggestions, steering away from the usual chain fare if given some more specifics.

We did the Franklin Institute on 5 July (visiting our grandchildren) and I think your kids will really enjoy it. They have a lot of interactive exhibits that will give them some “hands on” fun. The “pirates” exhibit was interesting – more for us than the kids – and the Imax show was very good. You could spend a lot of time there, so it’s at least a half day for sure.
