I would like to spend a night or two in the New Hope/Lahaska area with my 3 year old grandson. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding hotels/inns (that don%26#39;t charge an arm and a leg)that would accomodate us? I want to take advantage of the train ride, riverboat ride, etc.

Other than the occasional day trip and one overnight visit, I%26#39;m not too familiar with the area or its lodging choices. I don%26#39;t recall seeing any chain hotels at all, and the B%26amp;B%26#39;s we checked out were mostly upscale (very, very expensive and not child-friendly). We ended up at the Golden Plough Inn, on the grounds of Peddlar%26#39;s Village. They welcome children of all ages and have accomodations ranging from basic queen rooms to deluxe suites with whirpool tubs %26amp; fireplaces. Posted rates start around $180/night.
Just a note - we arrived on a Monday afternoon in early June, without a reservation, and got 2 gorgeous, huge king rooms w/ fireplaces, adjoined by a private, key-accessed foyer, for a total of $230 ($115 per room!). There was even a snack basket %26amp; complimentary champagne in each room. You can check availability on the Reservations page of their website and if you%26#39;re willing to take the chance and arrive without a reservation, you may get a great deal like we did.

Thanks for the info. I will check out the Golden Plough Inn.
The Wedgwood Inn allows children, but isn%26#39;t worth the $$. There are two hotels out of town but before Golden Plough. Golden Plough is nice, just $$$ as well. Sometimes it%26#39;s better to try some of the other places that are right outside New Hope if you don%26#39;t mind driving 5-20 minutes.
