We (2 adults, 2 kids ages 11 and 10) will be in Philly for one night only on 7/24. We are trying to fill Thursday evening and all day Friday with as much as possible so location is important to us to maximize our time.
I%26#39;m struggling with the lodging issue. We are planning to use the subway and public tranportation as much as possible. We were thinking of staying at Embassy Suites but I%26#39;m just not sure this location is best. Most of Friday will be spent near Indepedence Hall area.
I%26#39;ve looked at Hotwire and am just not sure what to do. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Where in Philly would you like to stay? Old City or Center City? Or do you mean the Embassy Suites by the airport?

I would prefer to be closer to the historic sites since that is where we will be spending most of our time.
We don%26#39;t need a ';fancy'; hotel. Clean and safe. And convenient to public transportation.
Thanks!!
While not in the historic district, the Embassy Suites is not in a bad location, only a few blocks to a subway stop and on the path of the Phlash. If you want to be right in the historic district you might check out the Holiday Inn. Omni Independence Park is in a prime location, but much pricier. If the Sheraton Society Hill is available at a good price on Hotwire, it would be ideal, close to historic attractions and many restaurants.
