Staying at the Sheraton University City Hotel

I will be staying at the Sheraton University City Hotel for 3 nights in August and have a few questions.

1. Which subway lines do I take to get to Citizens Bank Park and how long will the ride take?

2. Any suggestions on good bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel? For the bars, I%26#39;m looking for a casual night of relaxing, having a few cheap/inexpensive beers. For dinner, probably looking for a mid-price range dinner ($20-$40).

I%26#39;m traveling alone by the way.

I will let others help you on the subway question...

Check out the White Dog Cafe for dinner. It also has a nice bar as well. Another option for beers in the area is The New Deck Tavern, an Irish bar. It is right next door to the White Dog and right around the corner from the Sheraton.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info and the links. I will check them out.

There are a few ways to get there by subway depending on how much you want to walk. Here is one way:

Walk up to 34th %26amp; Market, and take the Market-Frankford (Blue) line eastbound to the 15th Street station (5 minute ride). Transfer to the Broad Street Subway (Orange Line) southbound (when you get off the train turn left and walk to the end of the platform- do not go through an exit!). Follow the signs. You will eventually go down one more level. Take this train to the end of the line (Pattison), about 18 minutes. Total travel time including waiting, maybe 45 minutes. Root for the Phillies or you may not make it back :)

Thanks Owlyn. I figured since the Phillies were at home, I%26#39;d try to catch a game there.

One other thing, is it hard to get tickets on game day? Have the Phillies been selling out their games lately?

Depends who they are playing. If the are playing the miserable Mets :) or any other contender, it will probably sell out.
