Looking for good accomodations near Kennywood

I was thinking of the Comfort Inn West Mifflin, but the reviews are horrible. We are a family of 5 and will be passing through on our way to Missouri. I wanted to surprise my kids by taking them to Kennywood for the after 5 ticket to unwind from the road trip. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try the Courtyard by Marriott in West Homestead/Waterfront. Good luck!

Courtyard was nice, but ask for room away from elevators.

Springhill Suites West Mifflin might be better for your family, nice hotel but 5 in a room anywhere is a little tough...

But this hotel is nice, very nice breakfast area...and they%26#39;ll give you a directions paper with the ';back'; way to Kennywood.

Thanks for the responses. I will check out both places. You are right about 5 being kind of tough, but I have all girls and they are close, so we do the %26#39;slumber party%26#39; thing a lot in hotels. The best options are when we can get a place that has two double beds and a sofa bed (like a residence inn). I think the Spring Hill Suites may be the most viable option.

The Hampton in West Mifflin has never been a problem for us. I%26#39;ve been there three times and my folks usually stay there at least once a year since we still have family in that area.

Spring Hill Suites North Shore in Pgh. had a configuration of 2 queen-sized and a sofa bed (plus frig and microwave). Do all Spring Hill Suites offer the same? That should work well for your family of 5, I%26#39;d think.

Ours did when we stayed at the West Mifflin Spring Hill Suites...

check your fridge though if you stay there, the first room, the fridge was not working, so the young lady came up and helped us move down the hall, she gave us a handicapped room which was much larger...she couldn%26#39;t be more accomodating....plus I liked the indoor pool, it can be used in bad weather.

The Hampton Inn has a VERY small outdoor pool, so if it rains...forgetaboutit.
