My wife and I are taking our first trip to Philadelphia in July. Are there any ';can%26#39;t miss'; attractions or restaurants for which you would recommend purchasing advanced tickets or making a reservation?
For instance, I%26#39;ve read that to be most efficient with your time that you should purchase tickets for the Liberty Bell online (even though they are free if you stand in line the day of your visit).
Also, is it worth the walk from the Alexander Inn down to Pat%26#39;s %26amp; Geno%26#39;s? I don%26#39;t mind the distance, but I read on Trip Advisor to make South Street your southernmost border to stay in the ';safe zone';.
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!
Advanced Tickets/Reservations Recommended?
Tickets are not required or available for the Liberty Bell, but you will need tickets for Independence Hall, and it is advisable to reserve online in advance. There%26#39;s just a $1.50 convenience fee. You will need to pick up the tickets on the day of your visit.
The conventional wisdom of regular posters here is that it is not worth it to make your way down to Pat%26#39;s or Geno%26#39;s, not because it%26#39;s unsafe, but because there are much better cheesestaks elsewhere. Most recommend jim%26#39;s in South Stret or Campo%26#39;s on Market.
