other things to do beside sesame place
HOw old are your kids and what do you enjoy doing? I%26#39;m not sure about other things the little ones would really enjoy, but you could go to Franklin Mills (a huge shopping outlet in Philly not too far away). New Hope is a great town to visit about 30 minutes away, lots of little shops, restaurants....hopefully some local people will chime in as I only spent one summer in Yardley

Also, you may want to check out buckscounty.org
Will you have a car
yes we will have cars. we are actually driving from chicago. i know we are crazy. the kids ages are 5,3, and 2
There are many museums, Please Touch, Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Sciences. The Philadelphia Zoo is also worth a trip.
I would skip The Franklin Mills Mall. If you%26#39;re from Chicago, I%26#39;m sure you have all that you need in shopping.
If you are interested in seeing the Atlantic Ocean, The Jersey Shore is not that far away 1.5 to 2 hours.
thanks i%26#39;ll check that stuff out online.
Right across the street from Sesame Place there is a strip plaza (in same building as the Boston Market) with a nice bakery (Fritz%26#39;s)--has cookies, ';famous German Stickybuns,'; breads, %26amp; if you are at Sesame because of a birthday, nice looking cakes. In the same plaza there is a chain sandwich %26amp; salads place, Saladworks.
Not something to do, but good for a lunch break. There is also a food court in the mall next door.
I would do a little extra driving %26amp; hit the Shore!
Or, if you like history, you are in Bucks County! -- Right across the Delaware River there is the Old Barracks in Trenton, use Google Maps to get to the Barracks--it is right off 29 on Barracks Street, not in the middle of the city. Go south on rte 29 from the Scudders Falls Bridge (rte 95). It is the only surviving French %26amp; Indian War barracks %26amp; it is the one Geo Washington%26#39;s men attacked Dec 26, 1776. Today it is a nice little museum with palisade fence surrounding it; you feel like you are in the 18th cent. when you are inside. Free parking in state lot next door to Barracks; you just tell the guy in the booth you are there to se the Barracks %26amp; he tells you where to park.
Use Google Maps to help you find some Bucks County specialities---the Mercer Museum is unique.
If you would like some inexpensive baseball, the Yankee%26#39;s triple A franchise is the Trenton Thunder, also easy to get to using rte 29, free %26amp; safe parking, right across the river. The ballpark is very family friendly.
the please touch museum in Philly is great...then go to the reading terminal market for lunch and snacks (ice cream , pretzels, candy),...one stop shopping.
You also get admission to the franklin institute playground (we did!) and that was great! Philly is so great and child friendly and small (well we are used to manhattan). It is so close and worth your time.
