Need Help in a Hurry!

Returning to Pittsburgh for a long weekend after a 16-year absence. Last there in my early 20s with a group of friends and loved a place called Blue Lou%26#39;s ... not just for the IC Light, but it had the greatest homemade pasta ever! You could see it drying in their windows during the day. Now, returning with hubby and 4 kids (under 10) and wondering if it%26#39;s still fabulous or just a bar. Will be there July 10-13. Happy to have other kid-friendly restaurant recommendations as well. Would love to know what%26#39;s good atop the incline as we%26#39;ll definitely be heading up. Many thanks.

Need Help in a Hurry!

Sorry I%26#39;m no help with Blue Lou%26#39;s, but I usually recommend Coal Hill Steakhouse on Mt. Washington. It is moderately priced with a good menu, and literally steps from the Incline.

For a higher end meal, the Tin Angel, Georgetown Inn or Monterey Bay are good choices.

Need Help in a Hurry!

This is late...you%26#39;re already gone...but Blue Lou%26#39;s is still there, it is now the smoking part of Mario%26#39;s Southside Saloon. Mario%26#39;s went all non smoking...the menu is changed and they cleaned it up...no more disgusting bathrooms, they are gorgeous and very high end....

Hope you%26#39;re enjoying the visit...gotta love the Burgh!

Thank you, Gypsy and Chick! Chick was right a/b Blue%26#39;s Lou%26#39;s. Too bad, but it%26#39;s probably better I keep my ancient memory a happy one! We drove by and I took a picture. I did find another old favorite down the block: Primanti Brothers, not nearly as good as a middle-aged mommy as it was as a tipsy twentysomething, but the kids loved the idea of french fries on a sandwich! The Duquense incline was really cool and the coal oven steakhouse (thanks, gypsy) was good w/ great views. We ate outside on a beautiful day and took lots of pics.

The Pirates game was the best and PNC stadium is to die for. Great views of the beautiful city beyond. And the IC Light was icey cold! The city is beautiful (all the bridges over all the rivers!!) and the people are incredibly friendly.

Lots to do with young kids outdoors and in. We had beautiful weather so we didn%26#39;t even hit the museums. Next time!

Euro, so glad you enjoyed your visit and had great weather!

Glad you %26amp; the family enjoyed yourselves...thanks for getting back to your thread too...
